Private ambulance service in Tekirdağ

In short

A private ambulance carries a patient who cannot travel safely by car or taxi, accompanied by a medical crew. In all 11 districts of Tekirdağ, hospital-to-home, home-to-hospital and inter-facility transfers are planned around the two addresses and the patient’s condition. The fee depends on distance, duration and crew scope.

What is a private ambulance?

A private ambulance is a paid service run by companies licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health. A medical crew and the equipment the patient may need travel in the vehicle. It works to the address and time you choose: the family decides where, when and to which hospital the patient goes.

When is it used?

  • The patient has to travel lying down on a stretcher
  • A patient discharged after surgery cannot sit in a car
  • A bed-bound relative needs to attend a check-up, scan or dressing change
  • The family has chosen a different hospital and the patient is being moved there
  • Oxygen or medical supervision is needed during the journey

If the patient can sit unaided and the trip is short, an ambulance may not be necessary. Describe the situation when you call and we assess it together. For calm, transport-only cases see patient transfer ambulance.

How a transfer is planned in Tekirdağ

  1. Pick-up: hospital ward and floor, or home address with floor and lift details.
  2. Destination: hospital department and appointment time, or home access details.
  3. Timing: now, later today or a future date.
  4. How the patient travels: stretcher, wheelchair or seated; equipment in use and number of companions.

Between the provincial centre Süleymanpaşa and the industrial districts of Çorlu, Çerkezköy and Kapaklı, traffic is heavy at shift-change hours, so departure times for appointments allow for it.

How is the fee set?

There is no fixed tariff. The fee is calculated per journey from distance, service duration (waiting, return leg), crew and equipment, building access (upper floors without a lift) and time of day. Give both addresses and the patient’s condition to get a clear quote. See how private ambulance fees are set.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book a private ambulance without a doctor’s referral?

Yes. No referral or report is needed; the patient or a relative can call and plan the transfer. Just confirm beforehand that the receiving hospital will admit the patient.

Can a companion travel in the ambulance?

In most transfers one companion can travel with the patient. The number depends on the vehicle and the patient’s condition, so mention it on the call.

Does public insurance (SGK) cover the fee?

A private ambulance is a paid service and in most cases the patient pays. If you have private health insurance, ask your insurer whether the policy includes ambulance cover.
