Saray’s geography
Saray lies at the foot of the Istranca forests at the northern tip of the province. Reaching the provincial centre means crossing almost the whole province, so the nearest larger centres are usually Çerkezköy, Çorlu and Istanbul rather than Süleymanpaşa.
Hospital and referrals
Saray State Hospital is on Kumardere Street in the Ayaspaşa quarter. Discharge journeys within the district are short; referrals elsewhere are long, so how the patient will cope, medication times on the road and who accompanies them are discussed first.
| Destination | When chosen |
|---|---|
| Çerkezköy | Nearest district hospital |
| Çorlu | Wider range of specialties |
| Süleymanpaşa | City and university hospitals |
| Istanbul | Treatment needing an advanced centre |
In forest villages, roads are winding and may be foggy or icy in winter; transfers are planned for daylight. See companions in the ambulance and Tekirdağ – Kırklareli.
